From first time to full time

Never fished, or not since school? Start with First Time Fishing, a free one-to-one session with all tackle and bait provided, then work through the Diploma at your own pace. Everyone's welcome at every session, and there are adult-only sessions too if you'd rather learn with other adults.

Juniors start with a free First Time Fishing session, move into Skills School, and those who want to compete fish for the Squad, our junior match team. It all runs through the 25-badge Diploma, so you can see exactly what your child has learned and what comes next. Every coach holds an enhanced DBS check and works to our published safeguarding policy.

Three qualifications: the Angling Support Assistant, the 1st4Sport-accredited Lead Angling Coach, and the School Of Fish Tutor, the Level 3 award that turns experienced coaches into coach educators. Insurance, an enhanced DBS and a year of the Coaches Community come with the coaching courses, and every cohort is delivered by a Level 3 qualified educator. Start at Train as a Coach.
